Hansan ramie fabric is one of the specialties in Sucheon. To advertise its greatness and importance, Hansan Ramie fabrics festival takes place every year since 1989. It is designated as the 18 great tour and cultural festival in Korea and 3 great cultural festival in Chungcheongnam-do. Several events and activities take place during festival. They also revive old fashioned weaving action.

It is a special place where sunrise and sunset can be witnessed. There is a village called ‘Sunrise and Sunset.’ The Maryang Port at the Maryang-ri that is the village located at the end of the West Sea is the place. In this port, the sunrise from the West Sea can be seen from November to the middle of February. Because of its fame that allows the view of sunrise from the horizon of the West Sea, many tourists visit here even at the period when the sunrise cannot be seen. Also this place gives us impression and joy on the mysterious of nature providing the sunset at the same spot.

At the Maryang Port, the festival of sea bream, flatfish, bass, squid, and bluegill will be held by the fishermen at the Maryang Port where the natural live fish is caught well. During the festival delicious raw fish can be purchased with moderate price and during the weekends and holidays, many things to enjoy and see including walking along the path provided along the beach, catching fish with bare hands, preparing raw fish dish, cooking contest with family, tasting bluegill sashimi, singing contest, experience on an isolated island, catching shells, catching shells and clams at the Chunjangdae beach, and so on will be presented to increase the joy and happiness of the tourists.
